Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between the Womonscape Center and the Womonscape Foundation Inc?
A: The Womonscape Center houses the Womonscape Foundation Inc. In other words, the Womonscape Foundation, Inc. is part of the Womonscape Center; the Womonscape Center, however, is not part of the Womonscape Foundation, Inc.
Q: Are my donations tax deductable?
A: Yes, any donation you make to the Womonscape Center or the Womonscape Foundation, Inc. is tax deductable.
Q: So, what IS the difference between the two? Besides, the ‘housing’ part?
A: The Womonscape Center is a 501(c)(3) organization. Within the Center the Womonscape Foundation, Inc. was created. This is the organization where we collect monies toward the fruitful giving away of these monies to women in need. Through an application process women ask for money from $25 to $500. References are checked; there is an interview process and then the woman is given a decision made by the Womonscape Foundation Board of Directors. If she is granted the funding, it is a no-questions asked grant.
If the woman wants to, in the future, make a presentation on how she used her funding, she can. There is no requirement of this kind.
Q: Where does my donation go when I give to the Foundation?
A: Your money goes directly to the women whose applications are accepted.
Q: Can I make a donation to the Womonscape Center?
A: Yes, you can. While all activities are free of charge, donations offset our costs to keep the Center open and running. This includes maintaining the Womonscape Library.
